Battle of Britain Service 14 September 2025
A service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving was held in the Chapel on Battle of Britain Sunday. Mayor Councillor Jonathan Andrews, Mayoress Mrs Theresa Andrews and the Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London Diedre Barr, Military Liaison Officer of the Worshipful Company of Nurses were present. The service was led by Licensed Lay Minister David Jefferys ( last year's Mayor) assisted by his wife LLM Ann-Marie Jefferys.
The Chapel was full with many service veterans including two centenarians Anne Galley and Harry Winters. Cadets from 2427 (Biggin Hill) Air Training Corps were in the congregation. The ATC banner was paraded by Cadet Lucy Nevard Cadet Amelia Nevard. Councillors Mrs Melanie Stevens and Mrs Kim Botting attended.
After the service the veterans and invited guests enjoyed refreshmenta in the Museum cafe.
