Supporting the Museum
The Friends are supporting the Museum by producing handmade goods to sell in the shop both on site and at home. Votive candles for the Chapel are bought and donations go to the Museum. Also a revised version of the blue Chapel is available with donations to the Museum.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION MARCH 2019
The committee wish to state that the group known as the ‘Friends of St. George’s RAF Chapel of Remembrance’ is not, nor ever has been, affiliated to any group or association that acts against the museum.
It does not condone any abusive behaviour or action perpetrated against the building, the trustees involved, or towards the associated general public, by any person or persons.
It is our hope to be able to continue a productive working partnership with the Museum Trust so that the museum is a success, thus enabling the Chapel to continue as a place of worship and memorial and the cemetery that is the Garden of Remembrance, to be well-tended and provide a place of quiet contemplation for those with family ashes interred there.
The Trust intend to arrange to meet with a working party from the Friends where we hope to forward these aims.
The Committee as at October 2019;
Sandra Carpenter, Chair , Margaret Wilmot, Secretary, Bob Wilkinson, Treasurer, Leslee Robbens, Social Secretary,
Joan Edgington, Joyce Pomfret.
