The Gate Guardians on guard at St George's Chapel

15th March 2021 The Gate Guardians have been fitted with custom made cockpit covers ( from Unusual Exhibitions) to protect them from further water damage. The Friends of St George's Chapel (FSGC)  bought the canvas covers as part of the  ongoing maintenance plan agreed with the Trust and funded by FSGC.

4th March 2021 The Gate Guardians were cleaned for the first time  since Bromley Council took over the site about 6 years ago.  Up to that time they had been cleaned and inspected twice a year.  The GGs were in desperate need of some TLC as there had not been a care plan in place for those 6 years.

New trustees and the Director of the Museum have supported the desire of the FSGC to return to the care of the Gate Guardians. To this end FSGC funded this clean.
