Benefits of being a Friend. What Members of the Friends can expect!
New Members to the Friends receive a welcome package containing the latest newsletter, a copy of the history of the RAF Chapel booklet, a renew membership form, constitution main aims, committee members and any new information about social activities.
All members receive a quarterly newsletter and regular information about activities, events and projects concerning the Chapel and Garden.
Social Events are organised and details of past events are shown in ‘Events’.
Committee Members are active in their quest to increase the Chapel congregation. A pickup service is offered to those who live within a 5 mile radius of Biggin Hill and would like to come to services but are unable to get there themselves. This is being funded by the Friends, as per the constitution; ‘to provide a means by which members and friends can demonstrate support for the continued existence of St George’s RAF Chapel of Remembrance, Biggin Hill, as a living, active church’. For further information about assisted visits please contact Margaret Wilmot - margaret.wilmot207mw@gmail.com
Several members of the committee also visit, meet and offer support, to our members who are older or infirm, lonely or temporarily incapacitated. If we are made aware of any member who is ill or in hospital then a card and flowers will be sent from the committee.
