Mothering Sunday
Picture
A special Morning Service took place today for those who attended. It was led by Licensed Lay Minister David Jefferys.  He gave a sermon, bringing together all the aspects of the original meaning of Mothering Sunday, motherhood and Mary the Mother of God, given to us as our Mother too, when Jesus spoke to John, on the cross.

Posies of flowers were distributed, each with a prayer attached.

A very informative display was on the FSGC 'Changing Themes' boards at the back of the Chapel, arranged by Margaret Wilmot.  It depicted women, unknown to the majority, who achieved greatness  such as  - Sojourner Truth, Kathy Headlee, Irene Sendler, and Nancy Edison, mother of Thomas Edison.
