VE DAY 8th May 2024
A group who wanted to remember the end of WWll on 8th May, and the peace given to us by so many brave people, gathered near the flagpole at the Chapel.
Reverend Alison Newman led a short service of remembrance. Mr Neil Atheron paraded the Royal Air Force Regimental Association Standard. Lantern George was also on parade, shining its light in the darkness, in remembrance, on a very bright sunny day.

A talk on 2nd March by Captain Peter Adams
There was a good turn out for a very interesting talk by Peter Adams about the Air Search Volunteer Service (ASVS). Air Search London and South East uses aircraft whose operational time and costs are donated by volunteer pilots who provide an 'Eye in the Sky' to help the Emergency Services and local authorities to fulfil their humanitarian community roles, finding people and keeping people safe. They help the Government and local authorities in ways that Joe Public could not envision.
£100 was generously donated and will be shared between the ASVS and the Friends of St George's Chapel (FSGC). All talks arranged by FSGC are free to attend A retiring collection is taken and shared between the group giving the talk and the FSGC to support Chapel Services. Our thanks go to Margaret Wilmot for her continuing care and enthusiasm for the Chapel. Peter will be back later this year to talk about the Goldfish Club and to continue his talk about the work of the Air Search Volonteer Service.
The next Chapel Talk is the first Saturday in April , the 6th April.
Margaret, who is our Chapel Verger was presented with a bottle of champagne, a personal gift from Peter.
The reason behind this gift will be unveiled later this week.
