St George's Service  of Songs and Praise 27 April 2025

Picture

Our Chaplain and a Friend of the Chapel, Reverend Alison Newman, is retiring in June and this was her last service as the Chaplain at St George's.  It was an honour to have the Mayor and Mayoress attending our service too as one of his final duties as Mayor.

An icon from Greece of St George was blessed. Each hymn had been chosen by a member of the congregation and their reason given Reverend Alison then gave the background of the hymn, who wrote it and when and what inspired them. After the service light refreshments were served in St George's Room.
