VE Day 2026

Picture

VE Day 2026 on 8th May, may well have passed most people by, or perhaps they thought, 'What is the point of remembering? It is no longer important'.

It did not just pass some by! A few gathered at the Chapel flagpole to remember, and two 90+ year olds had made a great effort to do so.  A small service was held, with prayers and the Chapel bell was tolled.

In 1945 , great relief came to the people of the UK and its allies, as war in Europe came to an end, though war in the Far East continued with Japan.  Thank you to those who won the peace and to those who remember them.
